pro mourns the death of June Mundinger

pro mourns the death of June Mundinger, who died on April 18, 2025, at the age of 95. A devoted ambassador of the College for over two decades, Mrs. Mundinger was known for her gracious spirit, tireless support, and deep commitment to the IC community.

June served as the College’s first lady, beginning in 1973 during the presidency of her husband, former pro President Donald C. Mundinger, and continuing until their retirement in 1993. She played a vital role on campus, advancing the College's mission through fundraising, engaging alumni, and welcoming numerous guests to campus with warmth and hospitality. Her vision helped shape campus spaces through the renovation of Barnes House, Tanner Hall, Fayerweather House, and other cherished locations.

June’s leadership extended beyond campus. She was a charter member of the McGaw Fine Arts Series board, a member of the Art Association of Jacksonville, and served on the boards of the Jacksonville Public Library and Passavant Area Hospital. In 1993, she was honored with pro’s “Friend of the College” award, celebrating her lasting impact. She remained active with the College as a philanthropic leader through her membership in the pro Society. 

June Mundinger’s legacy lives on in the students, alumni, and colleagues she inspired. She will be remembered with deep gratitude and affection. Mrs. Mundinger's .
